REVIEW LITERACY / EDITORIAL GUIDE

How to read a sponsored review

A sponsorship explains who paid for the content. It does not tell you whether the product is right for you.

01

Start with the disclosure

Check which platform sponsored the video and whether links are affiliate or campaign links. The creator's platform reviews are sponsored; treat that commercial relationship as part of the context.

02

Separate the walkthrough from the promise

A demonstration can show how an interface works. It cannot guarantee future performance, withdrawals, service quality or results for every customer. Write down what was demonstrated and what still needs verification.

03

Go back to the source

Review the provider's current official terms, fees and eligibility information before taking any action. A video is a snapshot in time. If a claim matters to your decision, check it directly.

04

Keep your own criteria

Make a shortlist of the features you need. Consider costs, geographic availability, account controls and support. Avoid treating a sponsored video or a discount as a reason to rush.

Use this guide to organize your research. It is not personalized financial advice or a review of a particular provider.
